Celtic Viereckschanzen

A member of the OBOD message board has written this:

In France, Southern Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic we encounter a type of monument that was named Celtic Viereckschanzen.
This is a German word composed from "rectangle" (Viereck) and "entrenchment, redoubt" (Schanze).
A Viereckschanze is usually a rectangular area surrounded by a wall and a ditch, with one entrance which is never in the north. The entrances have been found to be in alignement with the ley line system.

There are approximately 150 Viereckschanzen known in Germany alone. They are dated to ca. 200 - 50 BCE.

The Magic of Presence

Hello again!

There are so many ways we can learn - through the internet, with books and CDs, and so on, but there is something about the magic of presence - about being together and about learning from each other in a direct personal way that is so much more satisfying than these other methods that rely on a 'third party' or channel of communication.

That's the reason for meeting up, for holding the kind of events we have planned for the tour - so that we can do more than simply receive information, so that we can be creative and inspired together.

Every good wish,

Philip
